Barry Davies, BEM, spent eighteen years in the British Special Air Service serving around the globe. He participated in the storming of the hijacked Lufthansa plane at Mogadishu in 1977 and was awarded the British Empire Medal. He authored numerous books, including Soldier of Fortune Guide to How to Become a Mercenary, Soldier of Fortune Guide to How to Disappear and Never Be Found, The SAS Self-Defense Handbook, and Modern Survival to name a few. Davies passed away in 2016, at the age of seventy-one.
