Crocheted miniatures have been popular for years, generally as decorative objects. In this collection, the focus is on tiny food, with few items larger than three inches. All of the basic food groups are featured, from fruits and vegetables to meat, dairy, bread, and even junk food, and a pattern for a to-scale refrigerator to store the "perishables" is included. The directions are simple mainly single crochet, with some increasing and decreasing for shape, and a brief tutorial adequately describes the basics. VERDICT The size of the minifood makes it ideal for children's imaginative doll play, but adults will also be charmed by the projects in this book, which is a pleasant addition to amigurumi and miniature crochet collections.
